Good Morning!

The text I bring today is a bit longer than usual but it´s a great text. I call you all to read it and think deeply about it. I don´t know who wrote it, but this person was blessed to do it so beautifully.

At the market, the guy behind the balcony says to an old lady:

- You should bring your own bags to carry the products you buy since the plastic bags we offer are not friendly to the Environment.

The lady apologised and said:

- This Green movement didn´t exist when I was young.

The employee replied:

- That´s exactly the problem today, madam. Your generation didn´t care enough about the Environment.

- You´re right - answers the lady - our generation wasn´t correctly worried about the Environment. At that time, the bottles of milk, of soda and beer were delivered to the shop where they were bought. The shop used to send them back to the factory, where they were cleaned and sterilized before each reuse and they (the drink´s producers) used the bottles many other times.

We really didn´t care about Environmet at that time. We used to use the stairs because there was no escalators on the shops and offices. We used to walk everywhere instead of getting in our cars every time we had to go somewhere 2 block away.

But you´re right. We didn´t care about the Environment. Back then, the baby´s diapers were washed because there were no disposable ones. Dry clothes: the drying process used to be made by ourselves, not by these fancy machines. Wind and solar energy were used to dry our clothes. The younger kids used to earn the older kid´s clothes not new clothes everytime.

But it´s true: there was no Environmet concern at those days. Back then we used to have only one TV or radio at home, not a TV per room. And the TV had the size of a tissue not a screen as big as an stadium (by the way, how you´ll dispose them?).

On the kitchen, we had to mix everything with our hands cause there was no electronic machines to do the job for us. When we had something fragile to send via mail, we used to pack it with wrinkled paper to protect it, not with something plastic that will take five centuries to begin to decompose. At that time we didn´t use a gasoline engine just to cut the grass, out machine required muscles. The exercise was terrific and you didn´t have to go to the gym and use mats that are also moved by electricity.

But, you´re right: we didn´t care about the Environment. We used to drink directly from the spa when we were thirst instead of using plastic cups and PET that fill the oceans today. Pen: we used to recharge many times instead of buying a new one.

Actually, we did have a "green wave" back then. At that time, people used to take the bus and the kids used to go to school riding their bikes or by foot, instead of using their mothers as a 24 hours taxi service. We used to have a single socket on each room, not a whole bunch of then on each wall to feed dozens of equipment. And we didn´t need a GPS to receive signs from satellites miles away on the space just to find the closest restaurant.

So, isn´t it funny that current generation speaks so much of Environment but doesn´t want to put anything aside and doesn´t consider living a bit like it was at my time?

Well, this is the text I want to share with you all. I hope you can understand my English and think about it.

See ya!
