Muito se fala em sustentabilidade hoje em dia, mas o que é isso afinal? Ter uma vida mais "sustentável" ou sermos uma "sociedade sustentável" é viver de forma que nossa existência não interfira na das gerações futuras, ou seja, usar os recursos naturais de forma consciente, para que eles existam no futuro, garantindo que as próximas gerações tenham condições de se manter.
Por isso é tão importante que usemos a água, a energia elétrica, de forma consciente. Outro ponto muito importante é a produção de lixo. Nós produzimos muito lixo. Se não prestarmos atenção e mudarmos alguma coisa neste ponto, o que deixaremos de herança serão montanhas de lixo.

I bring today the definition of sustainability. Almost everything we hear today has to do with sustainability, but, what is that after all? Having a "sustainable" life or being a sustainable community means living in a way that won't affect the future generation. That is: using the natural resources consciously, to ensure they will exist in the future, to be used by the future generations, so they can survive.
That's the reason why it's so important that we use water, electrical energy, with conscience. Another very important point is garbage production. We produce way too much garbage. If we don't pay attention to that and change something, all that we'll leave as inheritance to future generation are mountains of garbage.
